New Logo & New Style

our vision

It’s A wonderful life.

For over 15 years Murata has offered customers distinct Japanese tableware and gifts at a good value.

Over this time we have seen more people in North America became interested in, and familiar with, Japanese culture - particularly with the Japanese food culture. We have also witnessed more people seeking  Japanese decorative items to personalize their homes. This seems to be a natural movement to be found in a multi-culture  city like Vancouver.

We do not want to be just an ordinary store selling Japanese tableware and gifts. We are hoping to better communicate with our customers by promoting the concept of “WA LIFESTYLE”, which brings you a feeling of warmth and peace in your life.

The Japanese character “WA" originally meant harmony, peace, and balance. It was a guiding concept in Japanese culture with various subtle yet different associated meanings. It also has come to mean Japan itself or something Japanese (a Japanese style). It is considered as the most important Japanese value.

Balance in the universe is the essence of everything Japanese and this is expressed in decorating interior spaces. There are unlimited way to personalize your life using Japanese tableware and house decor.

Sushi plates that you may have could be used for serving more than Sushi. They can also be used for serving appetizer plates with wine or champagne.

Japanese tableware does not have to be for just serving Japanese dishes.

Don’t limit yourself , but explore your own ways to enjoy WA LIFESTYLE.
